3 things - Day1
Something Good/Happy: Today my eldest sent me photos from Shenzhen, where he is starting a month's internship. He sounds as if he's doing ok. He's not a chatty guy so I was happy to hear from him at all!
Something Bad/Sad: Today my 15yo gave me a scare. They volunteer once a fortnight at RSPCA and normally I drop them off and their father picks them up, keeps them overnight and brings them home on Sunday afternoon. Today, however, he was sick, so the kid was planning to come straight home by public transport. Unfortunately they boarded the wrong bus. They should have been home well before dark, so when they weren't I rang and got 'this phone is out of range'. At that point I was seriously stressed and by the time the kid asked a passerby to let them call me on their phone I was in the car checking the local streets in the dark and rain between home and the bus/train stops. I hugged that child very hard when I finally had them safe in my car!
Then I stopped at an intersection a bit jerkily (wet road, bad angle, shaky Mum) and the car behind me ran into me. No damage to my car but my towbar did a bit of damage to hers. The kid started crying again, but it could have been so much worse! The young lass who ran into me was dreadfully apologetic.
Something new: When I arrived home the cat had tunnelled under my bedclothes and she gave me quite a shock! It's been very cold and she's been snuggling under the blankets with me but I've always been there to let her in. I left her by her food bowl when I went out so I had no reason to believe she was in my bed and I nearly sat on her!
