I've had a draining, MS-focussed week. On Wednesday I did NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Pre-planning at the MS Society. As warned, it was very negative, focusing on what I can't do and what help I need. I came home feeling very fragile. Then yesterday I had my bi-annual neurologist appointment where I outlined my deterioration since our last session and then drove home in peak hour traffic. All of which explains why when an email popped into my mailbox headed 'MRI help available' I wondered why I was going to need help.

Yes, I have an MRI scheduled soon, but it's always been covered by medicare.

It wasn't until I saw the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America logo at the bottom that I realised it wasn't a targeted email. And once again I thanked my lucky stars that I live in Australia, where I don't need to go begging for funds for an MRI. Yes, I am exhausted and frustrated by my health, but at least medical expenses, is not something I need to worry about.

Be very glad you live in Australia. Otherwise, you might go bankrupt for having to pay medical bills.
